Muhammad Abd Al-Haleem Abduallah
Muhammad Abduallah is a genuine writer from the Egyptian countryside. He enriched our sentiments with his
outstanding artistic writings and images reflecting ideal human values.

His Life
Muhammad Adbuallah was born in Upper Egypt on March 30,1912. He memorized Qura'n in the Kuttab of
his village and then joind the preparatory department in Dar Al Oloum. In 1927, when he was eighteen, he
wrote his first novel "Perplexed Love" which was published only after his death. In 1927, he graduated from
Dar Al Oloum high school. In late 1927, he joined the Arabic Language academy as an editor till he became
a general supervisor. In summer 1954, he was sent to Paris on a cultural mission.

He was interested in the works of Gubran Khalil Gubran & Mihael Ne'ma as well as Manfaloty's
Egyptianized works. He also read translated romantic novels such as "Anna Karenina " by Tolstoy, "Madam
Bovary" by Flaubert. He was influenced by romantic poetry and learned them by heart.

His Works
Muhammad Abdullah wrote 13 novels and ten collections of short stories including 143 short stories. He
wrote most of his works in ( Kaffr Boleen ).

"Time is still ahead",1968, a novel that he did not finish, 1971.

1965, "The Crime's Edge", 1966, "The Threads of Light", 1967, "A Myth From Love Book", 1968, "Julieite
on The Moon ", 1970, "Silent Tears", 1971 He also wrote a book entitled "A Meeting between two
Generations", 1973. It is a collection of speeches with pioneer writers such as Dr.Taha Hussein, Abbass Al
Aqqad, Yehia Haqqi, Muhammad Farid Abu Hadeed, Mahmoud Taymour, Muhammad Kamel Hussein, Dr.
Hussein Fawzi and others

Other Works
He wrote also "Issues and Literary Battles", 1974 and "The Other Side, Literary Essays", 1977. Some of his
works were translated to Persian, English, Italian, German and Chinese.
Many of his novels were turned into plays, cinema films and T.V. and Radio Serials. Moreover, his works
were studied in different universities and schools.
He contributed with strenuous efforts to enriching the literary movement in seminars he conducted in story
clubs (salons), men of letters society, Supreme Council for Arts and Literature.

He travelled to most of the Arab countries and participated in the works of the Arab Men of letters
gatherings.
